Breeders Cup Weekend

I got to educate some people today. 1 race today was The BC Dirt Mile. Two horses I hated was the overwhelming favorite Dortmund who lost his last two races to California Chrome who is one of the leading horse of the year contenders and will be the favorite in The Classic. Second was Runhappy. Mind you I love this horse. He ran last year 7 times and won 6 in a row including The BC Sprint. His only loss was off  the board at a mile. The owner fired the trainer after winning The BC, the day after. The horse did not train for several months and instead of getting him ready for the Sprint, they put up 1.5 million for a mile and an eighth next year. He finally ran off of a 10 month layoff and ran a mile and again was off the board to bad horses. He ran on the lead and quit as expected.

The day had me giving out tips that have won the last three races and all were nice prices. I am planning on handicapping shortly for tomorrow and posting about it. There is 1 race left The Filly Distaff and there is an undefeated 3 year old who has never been tested named Songbird. She runs against The Queen of the last few years Beholder is in the race and she gets to stalk this time. She beat the boys last year and she is a bit slower this year and lost twice to the horse I think will win though most dirt races have been on or near the lead is the co second choice who beat Beholder twice is Stellar Wind. I also think California Chrome, while winning his last, ran a non race for him as he almost lost to Dortmund and I hated Dortmund in the mile, a weaker race and he has become a professional also ran and I like a couple of longshots in The Classic tomorrow. But I will be writing about that later and tomorrow after scratches. The trainer Bob Baffert is going for his 3rd consecutive Classic win and he has a 3 year old who destroyed a track record at Saratooga by over a second and did it in ways no horse ever has and Baffert has a second horse that in light of the set up, I think he is very playable and there is a professional 3rd, 4th place finisher in the race as well.I will get to that later:).
